City Ballet of San Diego Summer Intensive 2018

July 30 – August 17

The City Ballet of San Diego Summer Intensive is known world wide as one of the finest programs of its kind. Each summer students come from all over the globe to study with our world famous guest artists and our resident faculty.

The program is designed to provide superlative training for serious students at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.

In addition to daily technique and repertory classes, the students are also challenged with classes in pointe, contemporary, jazz, pilates, yoga and acting for dancers in classes that teach them how to create a character in a story ballet. Lectures are presented on nutrition and injury prevention. Each of our famous guest artists hold informal discussions on their personal journeys to success.

The classes are kept at reasonable sizes so that each student receives personalized daily corrections and ideas for strengthening their technique and artistry.

The three-week program concludes with a free public performance at the historic downtown Spreckels Theater, home to the City  Ballet of San Diego.

Trainees and company apprentices are selected from this summer intensive.
