Back by popular demand! After the rousing success of Resident Choreographer Geoff Gonzalez’s premiere in 2018, City Ballet opens its 27th Season with his production of Carmina Burana set to Carl Orff’s famous score. Accompanied by an 80-voice chorus and The City Ballet Orchestra conducted by John Nettles, this multi-media production set in the 1920s is a sensory delight on a large scale!
An over the top contemporary ballet, Straw Feet, was choreographed by Resident Choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich in 1990 and last performed by City Ballet in 2006. The percussive score created by Brian Kohn compliments the fast-paced and creative movements required of the dancers. The challenging and contemporary choreography makes it a perfect showcase for the artistry and technique of the dancers.
