Inside the World of Ballet
CITY BALLET OF SAN DIEGO celebrated its 25th Anniversary June Fundraiser at the Rancho Santa Fe estate of Judy and Vince Bartolotta on June 24, 2018. Proceeds from the event fund City Ballet’s performances and education and outreach programs.
The fundraiser featured Ballet Mistress Tanya Rogers and City Ballet Dancers who demonstrated the steps they take prior to arriving on stage for a performance. Demonstrations included barre exercises, hair and make-up (including makeup for the Black Swan in Swan Lake) and the important role pointe shoes play in a dancer’s performance. Wardrobe Mistress Jannifer Mah showed how intricate it is to make tutus.
Judy and Vince Bartolotta’s home provided the perfect backdrop for a delightful and relaxing afternoon.
City Ballet’s Music Director, John Nettles provided music for the afternoon, Seasoned Catering & Events and Michele Coulon Dessertier provided sumptuous cuisine. Nancy Alvarez brought her Women’s Clothing & Accessories Rolling Boutique for patron shopping. Exquisite MD Spa and Anna and Mario Scipione donated gifts for each guest.
With donations from the Rolling Boutique, Silent Auction and the ‘Call to the Heart’, the event raised almost $50,000 for the company’s Performances and its Education and Outreach Programs.
