Kelsey Bevington, a native of Arizona, began dancing with her twin sister at the age of 4. Her initial training was with the pre professional ballet company, Ballet Etudes, under the direction of Sharon Seder Meko, where she had many unique performance opportunities, including featured roles in original productions of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia and Peter Pan. At the age of 16, Kelsey moved to Washington state with her family where she furthered her training for three years with Pacific Northwest Ballet, including two years in their Professional Division program. Kelsey attended summer intensive programs with Pacific Northwest Ballet, School of American Ballet and Oregon Ballet Theater, all under full scholarship. After spending a season with Cincinnati Ballet and then Nevada Ballet Theater, Kelsey joined City Ballet of San Diego. Following a two-year Apprenticeship, this marks Kelsey’s first season as a full company member with CBSD. Some of her favorite roles include Twyla Tharp’s Sweet Fields, Tall Fairy in George Balanchine’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream and with CBSD, Summer in Geoff Gonzalez’s Vivaldi’s Seasons, and George Balanchine’s La Source. Kelsey is also a faculty member with City Ballet.
