Jessie Leigh Olson was trained under the direction of renowned teachers German Zamuel and Valentina Moukhanova Zamuel, former teachers of The Royal Ballet School. Jessie Leigh was awarded numerous scholarships, including the Esther Geoffrey Scholarship Award. For several years she attended the Washington School of Ballet where she worked with the late Rebecca Wright and Victoria Leigh. Jessica has competed in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) in Denver, accomplishing First Place Awards in the Classical division in her category, which led to competing in YAGP as a finalist in New York City. Jessie Leigh first joined City Ballet as an apprentice in 2013 and is now in her fourth season as a company member. Since joining City Ballet, Jessie Leigh has performed in Leave the Light On, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Requiem, Speakeasy, Don Quixote, fourPair, Romeo and Juliet, Raymonda Variations, Treatment, Esmeralda and the Hunchback, Seasons, Giselle, Carmina Burana and George Balanchine’s Serenade, The Four Temperaments, Walpurgisnacht Ballet and La Source, plus the company premiere of Peter Martins’ Hallelujah Junction and his Ash. Jessie Leigh is also a faculty member at City Ballet School.
