Karissa Myers began training with Tia Stewart in her small hometown of Georgetown in northern California. She later augmented her training at The Sacramento Academy of Dance under the direction of Janelle Sebren as well as at The Sacramento Ballet School. Karissa has attended summer sessions at ABT, Joffrey Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, and City Ballet of San Diego. After high school, she joined The Sacramento Ballet for two seasons. She danced in numerous ballets including The Sleeping Beauty, Ron Cunningham's A Woman's Journey: The Tamsen Donner Story, and Balanchine's Western Symphony and Serenade.
Now in her fourth season with City Ballet (the first two as an apprentice), Karissa has enjoyed performing in Giselle, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Leave the Light On, The Seasons, Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky Spectacular, Carmen and George Balanchine's La Source, Serenade, The Four Temperaments (Third Theme and Phlegmatic), Rubies, Valse Fantaisie and Walpurgisnacht Ballet. Karissa enjoys dancing with City Ballet along with her twin sister, Kyla. |
