Emily Kirn, a native of Rock Island, IL, joined City Ballet in 2003. She trained at The Alabama School of Fine Arts under Dame Sonia Arova, and was an apprentice at the Alabama Ballet. She holds a BFA with honors from the New School Joffrey Ballet program in New York City. While in New York, she trained with Eleanor D'Antuoro and David Howard. She has appeared in David Howard's World Tour class video and on the cover of Dance Teacher Magazine. Since joining City Ballet, she has been featured in The Firebird, The Nutcracker, The Seasons, Carmina Burana, A Midsummer Night's Dream and George Balanchine's Who Cares?, Serenade, and La Source. Emily acts as rehearsal assistant, teaches in the City Ballet School and is also the director of City Ballet II. |
