Antonya Forsyth was born in the redwoods of Arcata, California, where she began her ballet training with Nadine Cole at the Academy of Ballet Arts. Antonya furthered her training by attending summer programs at the San Francisco Ballet School, Boston Ballet School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 2009, Antonya graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Dance and Psychology. At UCSB, she studied ballet with Valerie Huston, and modern with Christopher Pilafian, Nancy Colahan and Christina McCarthy.
During her time in Santa Barbara, Antonya also performed as a guest artist with the Santa Barbara Festival Ballet. Antonya joined City Ballet of San Diego in 2009 as an apprentice, and has since performed in George Balanchine's Rubies and Walpurgisnacht Ballet, and the company's productions of The Nutcracker, Tchai Celebration, Swan Lake, Carmen and Giselle. This is Antonya's second season as a company member. |
