Tara Formanek, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, trained under Kee Juan Han and Sibylle Acatos at the Schol of Ballet Arizona for six years before going on to become a trainee at Ballet Austin under the tutelage of Michelle Martins, Stephen Mills and Trueman Finney. Tara augmented her training with summer programs at Boston Ballet, The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet and Ballet Austin. Tara joined City Ballet in 2004, first as an apprentice for two seasons, and then as a full company member for the last three seasons. Tara has performed in many of the company's productions including soloist roles in La Bayadere, Elizabeth Wistrich's Carmina Burana, Don Quixote and The Nutcracker. She has also been featured as Dark Angel in George Balanchine's Serenade and Choleric in his The Four Temperaments. |
